Esther Lu – Student Intern

I am a student intern who has a passion for bridging different communities together. I teach a racial reconciliation class that talks about how to build Christ like intimacy in diverse communities. I have also helped administer to organizational tasks and vision casting in Worship Ministry. I currently lead The Housing Initiative, which is a team that is passionate about connecting students at our church to affordable housing with our members of our congregation.

I love the supportive staff and community that are always willing to listen, help or give advice for any struggles that I may experience in my personal and professional life.

Q: What is something people might not know about HSCC?

Even though HSCC and Peace United (we’re neighbors!) may have different stances on some traditional biblical concepts, both churches come together to serve the homeless in the Santa Cruz community.

Q: What is your favorite spot in Santa Cruz?

My favorite place is Natural Bridges!

Q: How else do your spend time when you aren’t at HSCC? (hobbies, other PT job etc…)

I love to read books, jam with fellow musicians and walk all around the city.

Q: Cursive or Printing?

cursive & scribbles!
